Cities around Turin
The whole area around the capital city of Turin is located on the border with France and Aosta Valley, in an area called “Pinerolese”, in the picturesque Susa Valley, in the “Canavese”, and on the hills positioned in the eastern and southern areas around Turin itself. This area is characterised by different landscapes: huge alpine resorts, wide meadows, woods and big vineyards. There are a lot of preserved areas, such as the Riserva Naturale del Sacro Monte di Belmonte and the wonderful Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, where rare birds, ibexes, chamoises, marmots and other animals live. In this amazing natural landscape there are many cultural and historical remains. Local gastronomy is unique: delicious dishes, traditional recipes, excellent wines and the famous gianduja chocolate provide flavours for anyone. This land offers countless surprises, where history, culture and nature create an extremely charming atmosphere.
